Liv Dempsey is a painter who grew up in Pickerington, Ohio where she attended Columbus State Community College for her senior year of high school. This is where she was first introduced to the fine arts such as painting and design. This jump-started her desire to pursue a career in the arts. She is is a graduate of Ohio University's College of Fine Arts with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art with a Painting and Drawing concentration as well as a Ceramics concentration. She also maintained a minor in Art History, a certificate in Museum Studies and a certificate in Diversity Studies.
Liv Dempsey primarily paints medium to large scale paintings using oil and/or acrylic paint revolving around the social topics of sexuality and gender. Throughout her education at Ohio University, she has had art in several art shows. In 2017 she was a part of the Experience the Arts in Cube 4 in Athens, Ohio. In 2018 she was a part of Salon des Refusés in Athens, Ohio. In 2019 she appeared in a local show at The New Happiness in Athens, Ohio. In 2020, she had three paintings in the Undergraduate Juried Exhibition at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Here she won the Margaret Brown Krecker Prize in Art for her artwork, Reminiscent. She concluded her time at Ohio University with her thesis showcasing titled Frame of Perception.
